The NC Triangle Wine Trail
Starting in the middle of the Chapel Hill/Durham/Raleigh Triangle and extending south to the outskirts of Fayetteville, this wine trail provides visitors and residents in one of NC’s more populated areas a great sampler of North Carolina wines close to home. The trail starts at the Chatham Hill Winery, which became the state’s first “urban winery” when it opened in 1999 taking NC grapes and crafting them into wines at their facility just south of the RDU Airport. Meanwhile, out in Willow Spring, Adams Vineyards specializes in North Carolina’s native muscadine wines, and in hosting several special events throughout the year. Further south, the J.Wesley Vineyards tasting room occupies an old-style stately Southern mansion, and hopes to supplement its muscadine wines with a supper club and a bed and breakfast.
