Catawba Valley Wine Trail

This group of wineries, all convenient to a short stretch of Interstate 40 between Hickory and Marion, provide visitors with a great variety of small local wines and winemaking philosophies to choose from. At Raintree Cellars, the wines are a personal passion of vintner Ed Yoder, while at the Waldensian Heritage Wines, winemaking is an extension of a craft that ancestors in Europe developed centuries ago. At Lake James Cellars, the winemakers are equally proud of their classic varietals and their wide selection of fruit-based wines, and the South Creek Vineyards and Winery specializes in the Bordeaux-style blending of premium wines.
