Yadkin Valley Wine: The Lexington Loop

This tour of four Yadkin Valley wineries takes you through prime farmland just southwest of Winston-Salem in Davidson and Davie Counties. The trail starts in Lexington, home of North Carolina barbecue and Richard Childress Vineyards, named one of the top 25 tasting rooms in the country by Wine Enthusiast. From there, you’ll head to the new home of the Weathervane Winery in Welcome,where there’s an impressive lineup of both varietals and low alcohol sweet wines. Right down the road is Junius Lindsay Vineyard, located on land that has been farmed for more than 100 years. Finally, the trail ends on the rolling hills and winding drive that leads to the RayLen Vineyards in Mocksville, with its big country porch in front and its big, bold, and popular Category 5 blend.
