The Midlands Wine Trail

Drawing a scenic swath across the heart of North Carolina, this trail of three Piedmont wineries alongUSHighway 64 is a good indicator of how quickly NC’s wine industry is blossoming. Both Zimmerman Vineyards andHorizonCellars are among the state’s newestwineries, and both are boutique wineries that specialize in European varietals. The Silk HopeWinery is located on one of the highest points in rural Chatham county, and is a family-owned winery with late-season harvests and wine that is fitting for just about any occasion.
